Dragon Naturally Speaking 10 Essentials is a great speech recognition program that gives users the ability to talk out whatever they want to type quickly. With Dragon 10, you are able to go online with using your voice only. You can do various things such as surf the Internet, and it allows you to become more productive.
Voice recognition software is handy for anyone who uses the Internet on a daily basis, and has trouble typing. Those people, who have trouble hitting the right keys on the keyboard or seeing them at all, are missing the entire world the Internet provides us all with and that is a shame. There are a number of versions of Dragon Naturally Speaking available depending on your individual needs. Dragon Naturally Speaking also offers legal, medical, professional and preferred versions. Another option is to use the "Dragon Pad" which allows you to dictate directly into a small pop-up box and works similar to notepad. When you have completed your dictation you may then copy (or cut) and paste the text into your favorite program. There is also a dictation box which is used if you have an open copy of any word based program that you prefer. It may also be used on many websites (like Helium) for automatically dictating articles and "pasting" them into text boxes.

It is important to remember that while Dragon Naturally Speaking is very accurate that it is sometimes less than perfect. Pauses in your dictation, interruptions from noise in your home and less than clear sounds may create words that you never intended to have in your document. Not only should you run spell check when you have completed your dictation, you should also run a grammar check. It is also a good idea to read the document completely through to ensure that there are no unexpected words in the document.

While the software is not 100% perfect, it is extremely accurate and can be very helpful. Whether you spend a few hours a day writing or, you write several hours a day you can double or triple your output using Dragon Naturally Speaking. There is little doubt that you will have to spend some time familiarizing yourself with the quirks of the program, but once you do, you will not only be protecting your hands from repetitive injury (carpel tunnel) but you will find that you are far more productive using Dragon Naturally Speaking 10.0 voice recognition software.
