To back the guarantee Allscripts has earmarked $72 million in development dollars to insure their programs meet the rigorous CCHIT requirements which may be even more robust than the Meaningful Use criteria.

Under IRS Section 179, equipment purchases may be deducted from taxable income if installed by 12/31/2009. Under a separate regulation, a taxpayer is allowed to claim a special first year depreciation allowance.
